I am a 23-year old mother of two. My husband died two years ago and I wanted to commit suicide because I thought it was the end of the world for me. I did not have a job and I knew I was HIV positive. I poisoned myself but was rushed to the hospital by relatives. YEI volunteers visited me at the hospital and advised me to enroll in their free vocational skill trainings. I have finished the craft-making course and am now selling my crafts in the community.
I am also going to start my own craft-making centre in my village. Since I now have a source of income, and with the continuous counseling I get from YEI, I now have a purpose in life.
Biira,
